Three cross-country moves.

The distance changes the order of operations. Book the people and the travel before the boxes.

01

Book travel before the mover

Flights, rental car, hotel, and the first night's keys. The movers can slide; your arrival cannot.

02

Plan the car

Drive or ship it, check insurance, and know the registration and inspection rules in the new state.

03

Forward the mail, keep the list

USPS forwarding plus a running list of every account that still has the old address.

Before you pack.

Short answers. No moving-day fluff.

Does it cover the car?

Yes. The cross-country plan adds a car registration and license task, plus a reminder to check insurance before you go.

What about temporary housing?

The travel task asks you to confirm flights, a rental car, a hotel, and the first night's keys. Add your own temporary-housing notes to the plan.

How early should I start?

Eight weeks is comfortable. If you have less time, start with the one-week and move-day phases and mark the past-due items as done or dropped.

Your move is a date. Make it a plan.
